Barbara Linton | Class of 1981
Founder/President, Courage Through Cancer Ministries

Barbara, who makes her home in Tallahassee, has been married to her husband Jay, for over 30 years. Together they have two sons, John Paul and Danny, both of whom also graduated from NFC. Barbara has a BS degree from Liberty University in Executive Secretarial Science with a minor in Business.
Before the founding of her company, Barbara worked at North Florida Baptist Church for twenty plus year. While getting the ministry going, Barbara worked from 2013-2015 at Chick-Fil-A in Tallahassee. She has been in full-time ministry since 2016.
When asked about how NFC prepared her for life after high school, Barbara said “The Christian-based education and influences at NFC are what sets it apart from other schools in the area. Many places offer education, but students must also be rooted and grounded in God’s Word to impact our community and world for Christ, in whatever field of life. This doesn’t happen in one day or one year, but over years of training, precept upon precept and line upon line. That’s why NFC was started — to train champions for Christ, starting in preschool and all the way through until graduation into adulthood. I am grateful my family chose NFC for me years ago, and how the next step for me was Liberty University. This natural transition was like a stepping stone after NFC and a continuation of the Christian, educational atmosphere I desired for my life. Our environments and people in our lives do impact us. And years later, as a parent, I wanted the same Christian education for our children. Both of our sons are also now NFC and college graduates, happily married, and actively serving God with their lives each day. I am grateful for the impact and investment all of those at NFC had in my life and the solid foundation that was laid for me for life.”
